ALBANY -- Two sets of brothers from the North Country have qualified for the USA Track & Field regional championships to be held this weekend at Icahn Stadium in New York City.

Gabe and Patrick Woodward of Gabriels and Lukas and Joseph Atkinson of Sugarbush qualified in the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Association Championship at Albany's Averill Park last month.

In the Youth Division, Lukas Islas Atkinson took first place in the shot put and second in the discus while Patrick Woodward placed third in both shot put and discus.

In the Midget Division, Joseph Islas Atkinson came in second in the shot put and discus while Gabe Woodward took third in the shot put and discus.

The top three finishers this weekend will advance to the national championships in Omaha, Neb. the week of July 19.
