Wrestling champ signs letter

PLATTSBURGH -- Former AuSable Valley Central School wrestling standout Dustin Frederick has signed a letter of intent for a full-ride scholarship to Division I Edinboro University.
Frederick, a two-time New York State Wrestling Champion, won a state title at 285 pounds his senior year.
He will attend Edinboro, which is in Pennsylvania in the fall, The Fighting Scots are a perennial power in the Eastern Wrestling League.
"This is definitely where I want to be," Frederick said. "Edinboro has one of the best wrestling programs in the nation.
"Academics are very important and I was very interested in Edinboro right from the start."
Frederick, who is currently training for a Strongman competition that will be held in Peru, is keeping in shape for the fall.
"I also want to thank all the people for their support when I went to the Nationals," he said.
