Ti, NCCS win in baseball
BEEKMANTOWN -- Hunter Denno scattered six hits in pitching Ticonderoga to a 9-1 victory over Beekmantown in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball Friday.
Denno struck out five and didn't walk anyone as the Division II-leading Sentinels ran their CVAC-best mark to 8-1.
Ticonderoga held a 2-0 lead after one and broke the game open with five in the third.
Todd Carr paced Ticonderoga with three hits, including a double and RBI, while Anthony Barnao, Tyler Bush and Denno all added two hits each, with Barnao and Bush driving in two runs apiece.
Cody Weaver was Beekmantown's starting and losing pitcher. Brett Palmer drove in the Eagles' lone run.
Beekmantown (5-4) will play in the Ogdensburg Wooden Bat Tournament this weekend.

CHAMPLAIN -- Cory Davison was sharp as he tossed a three-hit shutout, while striking out 10 and walking one. Davison pitched to only two batters over the minimum.
Cory Trombley, Ryan Armstrong and Casey Letourneau all rapped out two hits each for Northeastern Clinton (4-4).
Trombley had a double and two RBI, Armstrong two RBI and Letoureau, a double. Brett Bosley chipped in with a triple.
