Warriors win wild one

WILLSBORO -- Denice Lindsay accounted for three hits, including two home runs, to lead Willsboro to a wild 22-20 victory over Chazy in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference girls' softball Wednesday.
The Eagles scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning, and the Warriors (4-1) came back with 11 in the home half of the first.
Winning pitcher Codia Holland added three hits and four RBI, while Jerrica Shepard also had three hits. Stephanie Marcotte and Alexandra Walsh contributed two apiece.
Devin Latremore and Stephanie Holzer led Chazy with three hits each, while Victoria Reynolds, Sinead Cooper and Brigid Daul added two apiece. Reynolds rapped a home run, while Holzer had a triple and three RBI.

SCHROON LAKE -- Lindsay White and Hope Lacey accounted for three hits each to help power the Panthers.
Jessica Potter homered and drove in four runs for Crown Point.
Jonalee Ross struck out 10 and allowed three hits in going the distance for the pitching win.
Savannah Clark was the losing hurler.

Keene 25, Westport 2
WESTPORT -- Carrie Shackett struck out 10 and walked just one in the Beavers' win.
Emma Nye had three hits for Keene, and Summer Reed and Alicia Ashe each chipped in two hits. Michelle Sardella doubled.
Keene's Brooke Hartson "was very good in the outfield," Westport coach James Monty said. "She had a couple of outstanding catches as their centerfielder."
Westport's Karlee Vaughn smacked three hits. Molly Rascoe doubled and singled, and Stephanie Stevens contributed two hits.
Rebecca White took the loss for the Eagles (1-4).

Malone 12, Massena 3
MASSENA -- The Malone Huskies jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings Wednesday and went on to defeat the Massena Red Raiders for the second time in as many days, 12-3, in Northern Athletic Conference softball.
Malone (10-0, 8-0) is off until the Mudville Tournament in Herkimer Saturday. The Huskies will take on Ticonderoga at 1 p.m. and Cobleskill-Richmondville at 5 p.m.
Malone, which beat Massena 15-0 on Tuesday, pounded out 11 hits in support of winning pitcher Meaghan Patterson, who scattered five hits while striking out seven and walking two. She hit two batters.
Brittany Marshall went 3-for-5 while Erica Johnson knocked in two runs with two hits. Patterson helped her cause with two hits and Abby Premo added a triple.
Erin Tyo went 3-for-4 for Massena.
