TROY -- The Chateaugay boys' basketball team punched its ticket to the NYSPHSAA Class D Final Four Saturday with a solid 62-41 win over Northville in regional championship play at Hudson Valley Community College.
Northville, coming off Friday's 46-40 win over Section VII champion Westport, was no match for the Section X winners.
The Bulldogs (23-1 overall) held a slim 12-10 lead after one, but expanded it to 27-15 at the half and 38-23 after three.
Drew Boyea poured in a game-high 22 points for Chateaugay, while Brad Dumont and Jordan Rankin finished with 14 points each. Zack Peck added eight.
The Bulldogs' defense was as strong as usual, holding Northville, which relies on its three-point shooting, to just one hoop from beyond the arc.
Ryan VanNostrand tossed in 15 points for the Section II champions, while Jordan Williams followed with 11 and Mike VanNostrand, 10.
Chateaugay will play Section XI's Greenport in Friday's Final Four semifinals.
