SOUTH PLATTSBURGH -- Dave Rabtoy took the checkered flag with Mike Terry at his rear wheel and earned his first Versatile Trailer Sales Renegade feature in 2008 as Airborne's support divisions went 50 laps each on Budweiser Little Guys 50 Night Saturday.
The race ran under green from start to finish and Rabtoy led from lap two.
"This has been a long time coming for me," Rabtoy said. "I've had seconds and thirds but its been a while since I won one. I saw Terry coming and decided if he was going to get by me, it would have to be on the outside."
Joe Daniels stayed alive in the Renegade title chase by finishing third then became the official runner-up when Terry failed post-race inspection. Nick Heywood moved into third. Unofficially, point leader Lonnie Rivers placed eighth.
Chris Lavair dominated the NAPA Warrior 50, which also stayed green throughout. Butch Lamere outlasted Rick Doner to finish second. Jayson Criss and Bill Thwaits completed the top five.
"Kevin LeMay set the car up for me and I could go anywhere I wanted," Lavair. "It was great."
Randy Martin, the man to beat in the Monster Energy Bomber division all year, earned his seventh win by chasing down Eric Reyell and Chad Collins who had waged an exciting battle at the front from the outset. Martin took over the lead on lap 37. Collins recovered from a near trip off the backstretch after exiting turn two very high on lap 39 to finish second. Reyell was third, Josh LeClaire fourth and Josh LaPorte fifth.
Airborne's season-final Fall Foliage 200 for Modifieds and Sportsmen is set for Sunday, Sept. 21.
