PLATTSBURGH — Clinton Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of both men’s and women’s soccer coaches for Fall 2013.
Kaila Sciascia has been appointed the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Sciascia is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland. She played four years on the women’s varsity soccer team on full scholarship. While in college, she was named to the University Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, was a four-year starter, and was the captain as well as the team’s leading scorer her senior year. Sciascia was a 2004 team member of the United States U-17 National Team and played professionally after graduating from college. She has significant coaching experience.
Sciascia is currently employed at Twinstate Technologies in Morrisonville as a Research and Marketing Specialist. She has a B.S. in family science with a minor in Kinesiology, Sport Commerce and Culture. Sciascia succeeds Donna Dixon, who has retired from coaching with an outstanding record at Clinton.Gene Bushey has been appointed the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. For the past two years, he was the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for Clinton.
Bushey played his collegiate soccer at SUNY Canton. He has officiated in the Clinton County Soccer Officials Association for 15 years, spent five years as a United States Soccer Federation official, and has held a trustee position on the Executive Board for 2 years. He is currently a holder of National Soccer Coaching Association State, Regional and Advance goalkeeper diplomas. Bushey has attended the Simon Smith goalkeeper clinic in Syracuse and is a member of the franchise Just 4 Keepers.
Bushey resides in Plattsburgh with his three children. He is employed by The U.S. Border Patrol as a Law Enforcement Auto Technician.
