SCHENECTADY — The North Country Community College women’s basketball team was unable to overcome 27 turnovers in a 51-44 setback to Schenectady Community College Thursday.
Freshman guard Monique Pucci led the way for the Royals (6-3) with 10 points, which included three 3-point field goals. Kaila Sanbeouf, Karley Murray, and Jordyn Funk each added eight markers in the victory.
Saints (3-7) head coach Jerrad Dumont wasn’t pleased with how his team handled the basketball, but thought his squad played descent in other facets of the game.
“We didn’t do too badly on the boards (Thursday),” Dumont said. “We turned the ball over 27 times, which really hurt us down the stretch. We need someone to step up and handle the ball without turning it over.”
Kelly Kezar added 15, while Shelby Gausby and Emily Lapage added eight points a piece.
The Saints travel to SUNY Delhi today for a 12 p.m. contest.
