Cardinals blow past Devils to begin season 3-0

The Cardinals substituted freely the rest of the way, and FDU-Florham scored six of its 10 goals in the fourth period.

Jake Higgins led the Devils (0-3) with five goals, while Daniel Minnich was next with two.

The Cardinals play a 16-game regular season schedule and open their home campaign at 4 p.m. Wednesday with a non-league contest against Norwich University.

“We have a lot of confidence right now with a 3-0 start,” Cavanagh said. “We know we have a talented team. Looking before we stepped on the field for the first time this season, the RPI game was probably our biggest test. We can’t really ask for more than being 3-0. The guys are playing hard.

“Norwich is a decent team and we’re a little deeper than they are. We’ll try to figure out our roster before we hit our spring break and the Morrisville game.”
