Saints fall in men's soccer

SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College men’s soccer coach Adam deVincenzo was almost at a loss for words Sunday following his team’s 4-1 setback to Adirondack Community College.

“They’re good,” he said. “But we can’t just show up at a game and expect to win.”

Sam Kersh scored two goals and Samuel Naiwo one in the first half to give the Timberwolves a 3-0 lead 30 minutes into the contest.

Justin Bergman, with Andrew Lontis assisting, pulled the Saints (4-4-1) back to within two goals with 11 minutes left in the half.

Conor Clune’s goal early on in the second stanza put Adirondack back up by three.

Robert Sprague made eight saves in the Adirondack nets and Beau Stanford (9) and Drew Garnaut (7) combined for 16 stops for North Country.
