---- — Lions baseball holding signups Wednesday

MALONE — The Bob Barton Lions Baseball League will hold sign-ups Wednesday at the Franklin Academy High School gymnasium lobby from 3-5 p.m.

This is for the Malone team for ages 13-16. Cost to play is $35 per player.

Bud Light Platinum Shootout slated for June 15-16

PLATTSBURGH — The 2nd Bud Light Platinum Shootout will be held on June 15-16.

This is a two-day tournament with two different formats on two different courses for two-man teams.

On June 15, Bluff Point will host the ‘Carver’ format — eight scramble, eight best-ball and two holes of alternate shot with handicaps added together and divided by three or the lowest single handicap to establish the team handicap.

On June 16, The Barracks will host the ‘Dodds’ format — scrambling on the par 4s, both scores on the par 3s and alternate shot on the par 5s. Handicaps are added together and divided by three to establish team handicap.

There are prizes for each day, as well as prizes for the overall winners, tee times for both will begin around 8:30 a.m. The cost of the tournament is $80 per player and $30 each day for green fees and carts. Participants must enter both events. Field is limited to players with verified handicaps only and entries must be paid in advance on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Plattsburgh Distributing, Bluff Point and The Barracks will be providing a number of prizes, while Dukes Diner will provide ‘stunners’ on Sunday prior to tee time.

Forcier Memorial golf tournament scheduled for June 28

WESTPORT — The Westport Country Club will hold a memorial golf tournament in memory of Doris Forcier on June 28.

Proceeds will benefit High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care. Pre-registration is required.

Tournament costs are $80 per person or $320 for a team of four. Sign in is at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration deadline is June 19.

This event includes 18 holes of golf with cart, cash & gift prizes, light lunch, buffet dinner, raffles, four-person scramble, mullions, and two holes with a hole-in-one prize ($10,000 cash and a new 2013 Ford Fusion). Teams of four are encouraged to participate but all players are welcomed. Less than four players registering together may be teamed up with others to share a cart.

Roman Catholic Community of St. Alexander and St. Joseph Golf Classic

PLATTSBURGH — The Roman Catholic Community of St. Alexander and St. Joseph will host its annual Golf Classic at the Barracks Golf Course July 12.

The shotgun start is scheduled for noon, and the event is limited to only 30 teams.

The deadline for pre-paid registration is July 5. Forms can be picked up at the parish office or at the Barracks Golf Course.

A total of $260 per team must accompany this application.

Registration fee cover green fees, cart, complimentary gifts, a barbeque chicken dinner and more.

Early bird special is $240 per team if paid registration is received by July 17, while the early bird special is $200 for members of the Barracks Golf Course.

Barracks member registration fee is $220 per team.

North Country Cancer Fund 2013 Golf Tournament

ROUSES POINT — The North Country Cancer fund will host its 2013 Golf Tournament June 28 at the North Country Golf Club on Hayford Road in Rouses Point.

Shotgun start is scheduled for noon.

The cost is $55 for members (includes golf, cart, meal after play and refreshments on the court), while $70 for non-members.

Team registration form and payment must be paid by June 21.
