Thunder Road Speedbowl moves event to tonight

BARRE, Vt. — Thunder Road International Speedbowl postponed Thursday’s Aubuchon Hardware Night due to rain in the forecast and has re-scheduled the event for tonight.

Derrick O’Donnell sits on top of the Late Modal point standings over Nick Sweet, who has an opportunity to make up some ground in the 100-lap feature. The Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will also be in action. Qualifying will begin at 6 p.m. sharp.

Cedar Hollow Steak Bake on Saturday

REDFORD — The annual Cedar Hollow Steak Bake will be held on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. A New York Strip Steak dinner will cost $10. There will also be hamburgers, hot dogs and chowder. Take-out orders will be available.

Pro Stock Series featured at Mohawk

AKWESASNE — Mohawk International Raceway presents a full program featuring the Mohawk Race Parts Pro Stock Series, plus Modifieds, Sportsman and a 20-lap “The Cig Shop” Series race for the Bandits tonight. The Mod Lites are not on the schedule this week. This weekend’s events will be the final “regular” race night of the year.

Pit Gates and spectator area will open at 4 p.m. Heat race action will get underway at 7:30 p.m. Pit Admission is $25 with DIRTcar License and $30 without. Grandstand Admission is $14 with children 12 and under admitted for free.

Pepsi-Cola classic league forming at North Bowl

PLATTSBURGH — The Classic League, sponsored by Pepsi-Cola, is now forming at North Bowl Lanes. It is a five-person scratch league, with a team maximum of 1,000. The league begins bowling at 7 p.m. Sept. 9.

Industrial League at North Bowl forming

PLATTSBURGH — The Industrial League at North Bowl Lanes is now forming for the upcoming season. It consists of five-man teams and bowls at 7 p.m. on Thursday nights. A league meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 5 with the first evening of bowling to follow.
