CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley’s Bryce Douglass scored six points in a girls’ basketball victory over Plattsburgh High on Wednesday. Douglass’ points were omitted in Thursday’s paper. The Press-Republican regrets the error.
YMCA begins registration for junior indoor soccer league
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA is offering a junior indoor soccer league for boys and girls ages 4 through 7-years-old in the YMCA gym. The program is divided into two divisions: “KICKERS” (4 and 5-years-old) and “DRIBBLERS” (6 and 7-years-old). The program runs from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. once a week during the week for the Kickers (Tuesday or Thursday, or Friday if needed) and 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. once a week during the week for the Dribblers (Monday or Wednesday, or Friday if needed). This instructional league is designed to be a fun, family activity, while learning how to play soccer. You may register at the Downtown YMCA — 17 Oak St. Children from all area communities are welcome to participate. Practice and games will run one hour for eight weeks beginning the week of Feb. 4. Children will receive a t-shirt, uniform and trophy. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. For more information, call the YMCA 561-4290. North Bowl Lanes hosts Singles
Shootout on Sunday
PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes will be holding a Singles Shootout on Sunday, with qualifying shifts at 12:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Based on 50 entries, first place will be worth $300. The top 15 or one in five entries will cash.
Handicap is 80 percent of the difference in a bowler’s average and 220, with a maximum of 32 pins per game. The highest 2011-2012 average, with a minimum of 21 games, will be used. All bowlers must sign in 15 minutes prior to their shift, or call and reserve a spot 30 minutes prior to the start of the shift.
