Co-ed volleyball tournament August 24

CHAMPLAIN — VFW Post #1418 will be hosting a co-ed volleyball tournament on Saturday, August 24 — rain or shine. Entry fee is $60 per team. Deadline to register a team is August 8. For more information, or to sign up a team, call 593-2310.


ALS Raising Hope golf tourney winners listed

PLATTSBURGH — The team of Gary Finney, Ron McGee, Bob Dandrow and guest took first place in the recent ALS Raising Hope Golf Tournament. Second place went to the team of Gail Douglas, Ron Douglas, William Hickey and John Hickey and third to the team of Dan Hoey, Tyler Hoey, guest, guest.

Cory Pulsifer won the longest drive, while Kathleen Everleth and Gary Finney won closest to the pin.


NCAVI holding ‘Golf for Sight’ Tournament

PORT KENT — The North Country Association for the Visually Impaired (NCAVI) will be holding its 10th Annual ‘Golf for Sight’ Tournament/Fundraiser on Friday at Harmony Golf Club.

This event raises money to help provide free services to those that are blind, legally blind and visually impaired of all ages throughout Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties.

NCCS schedules fall athletic meeting

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton fall pre-season parent/athlete meeting for all athletes trying out for a fall athletic team will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 5:30 p.m., in the high-school auditorium. All athletes intending to try out for a fall athletic team need to be present at this meeting with their parent or guardian. The high-school and middle-school nurses will be available at this meeting.

Please bring any outstanding forms to submit at this time. If your child uses an inhaler, Epi-pen, or insulin, please bring orders from the doctor allowing your child to “self-carry”.
