AuSable Forks, Morrisonville youths top Free Throw Contest
AUSABLE FORKS — Four AuSable Forks and two Morrisonville youths were the top shooters in the Knights of Columbus District 95 Free Throw Contest at Holy Name School Jan. 18.
All winners have been invited to compete in the Regional K of C Free Throw Competition scheduled in Massena March 8.
Inaugural Rabbit Derby Jan. 25, 26
SARANAC — The inaugural Beaver Lodge Hunting Club Rabbit Derby and ham dinner will be held at the Saranac American Legion Post 1618 Jan. 25 and 26.
Tickets are available at the Saranac American Legion, West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1619, C&S Bait and Tackle and Squares Tavern.

Champlain, Mooers youth invited to Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest
CHAMPLAIN — Champlain and Mooers youth are invited to the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at St. Mary’s Academy at noon Jan. 26.
Separately, boys’ and girls’ ages 9 to 14 are eligible to compete and winners of each council’s age groups and gender can advance to district regional, upstate and New York State-level competitions.
The district level playoff will immediately follow the local contest. The regional championship will be held at Massena Central School March 8. The New York State championship will occur at West Point Military Academy this spring.

LPHS Winter Carnival broomball Feb. 4
LAKE PLACID — Lake Placid High School Winter Carnival broomball games will take place in the 1932 Rink of the Olympic Arena Feb. 4.
Freshmen versus juniors and sophomores versus seniors — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Lake Placid High School alumni versus faculty — 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Consolation and championship games — 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
