---- — Depo Tabbed as SUNYAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
CORTLAND — Plattsburgh State’s Ben Depo was named the SUNYAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Monday. The former Saranac graduate picked up the award for the third time in his career.
Depo came in first place in the decathlon event this weekend at the Cortland Classic, by accumulating 6,277 points. Depo placed first in shot put and the discus throw. His point total ranks fifth among all of NCAA Division III.
Moriah Country Club hosting golf tournament
PORT HENRY — The Moriah Country Club will be hosting the Moriah Girls Softball Drive to Mudville Golf Tourney on Sunday April 28 at 1 p.m.

Vibram Birdie Bash starts May 4
KEESVILLE — The Adirondack Disc Golf Association and AuSable Chasm are celebrating the World’s Biggest Fold Weekend by hosting a Vibram Birdie Bash on Saturday, May 4. Registration fee is $25 which includes a choice of Vibram putter, driver, or mid-range club, and a t-shirt.

Local Youth Hockey takes first in Coca Cola Classic
BOSTON — The North Country Cougars Squirt hockey team, comprised of players from Mooers, Rouses Point, Chazy, Plattsburgh and Massena took first place at the Coca Cola Classic 2013 hockey tournament held in Boston this weekend.
Team members include, David Hutchinson, Noah Gonyo, JT Campbell, Raymond Miller, Caleb D’Arienzo, Seamus Andrew, Lucas Bedard, Zachary Miller, Jalen Abellard, Garret Adolfo and Ethan Gerrand. Coaches include, Rick Garrand, Jack Campbell, and Justin Miller.
Beekmantown Booster Club hosts golf tournament
PLATTSBURGH — All are welcomed to join the Beekmantown Booster Club at the Barracks Golf Course June 8 at noon.
The tournament features a shotgun start with a four-man scramble and no handicaps.
The event will occur rain or shine.
The cost is $65 per person, which includes golf, a cart, food and beverages.
All checks must be received no later than June 6. If participants pay at the registration table on the day of the tournament, no checks will be accepted.

Team McMillan wins Miller Lite Open
PLATTSBURGH — The Miller Lite Open was recently held at the Barracks Golf Course.
First place went to Team McMillan, while Pepper/Lemay claimed runner-up honors and third to Dion/LaBarge.
Skins went to Team Weaver,Team PepperTeam Weeny and Team Dion.
Colon Morrow won the annual no show award.
