American Legion baseball benefit dinner tonight

PLATTSBURGH — American Legion Post 1619 is hosting a Roast Pork or Chicken & Biscuit Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. today to benefit American Legion Junior and Senior baseball. There will be a $10 donation for dinner, and the waiters will be the Junior Team members. For more info, call 561-8706.

Thunder Road action postponed

BARRE, Vt. — Thunder Road’s VP Racing Fuels night scheduled for Thursday was postponed due to the weather forecast. The event has been rescheduled for Aug. 29 and will be the final point-counting event for the Late Models. The event will feature the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen 100-lapper along with regular events for Late Models, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and the Rough Riders.

Thunder Road will be back in action Sunday with the make-up event of Harvest Equipment night. Post time is set for 6 p.m. with racing action for the Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and Allen Lumber Street Stocks.

PHS to host motivational presentation Sept. 3

PLATTSBURGH — All Plattsburgh High School coaches, athletes and families are welcome to attend a motivational presentation at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 in the PHS auditorium. William Harris will present “The Team Experience” to kick off the sports seasons.

Hamilton/Lamare win Zuckerman Invitational

PLATTSBURGH — The team of John Hamilton and Todd Lamare took first place at the Zuckerman Invitational recently held at The Barracks Golf Course. Matt Dion and Mickey Pepper placed second. Cliff Goff won the high-man-out award, Hamilton won the target award. And low gross went to Dion with a 79. The next event will be the Bud Pepper Open on Aug. 6.

NAC fall sports meeting is Aug. 12

ELLENBURG — Northern Adirondack will conduct a fall sports meeting for all coaches, athletes and parents at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12 in the High School cafeteria. Information regarding medical clearance will be updated with the school nurse, and there will also be distribution of schedules, practice start dates and times and a code of conduct review.
