NCCS fall athletic awards ceremony postponed

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School fall athletic awards ceremony, originally scheduled for tonight, has been postponed to a date and time still to be announced.

Soccer regionals to begin Tuesday

PLATTSBURGH — Section VII will have two girls’ soccer teams hosting state regionals Tuesday.

In Class C, Section X’s Canton will oppose Section VII’s AuSable Valley at 6 p.m. at Plattsburgh High. In Class B, Section X’s Potsdam takes on Section VII’s Plattsburgh High at 6 p.m. in Chazy. If the Hornets win, they will host a state quarterfinal contest Saturday. If the Patriots win, they will be on the road Saturday for quarterfinal action.

The four other Section VII champions will be in action Saturday in the state quarterfinals. In the Class C boys, Lake Placid will oppose the winner of the Section X/Section II contest at 1 p.m. at Plattsburgh High. In Class B, the Northeastern Clinton boys go up against the winner of the Section X/Section II game at 3 p.m. at Plattsburgh High.

In Class D, both the Chazy boys and Elizabethtown-Lewis girls will play at Potsdam High School against the winners from Section X. The girls’ contest is at noon and the boys’ game at 2 p.m.

Admission for the state playoff games is $6.

Champlain/Rouses Point bowling program to begin

ROUSES POINT — The Champlain/Rouses Point Youth Commission-sponsored bowling program will begin Friday at Bowl Mart Lanes. The eight-week program will be held Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 16 and 30 and Dec. 1, and Saturday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

It is available for children ages five to 17 who are residents of the Town of Champlain or Village of Champlain or Rouses Point. Participants need to arrive early for registration, pay for shoe rental and can bowl up to three games.
