WESTPORT — The Westport Wall of Distinction golf tournament, a two-person scramble, will be held Monday, Oct. 8. There will a high school division for all area high school golfers. The cost is $35 and includes a cart. This is a chance for area high school students to get in one final competitive round.

Entry fee for others will be $45, including a cart. This tournament will support Westport’s Wall of Distinction.

Separate prizes will be given for both divisions.

PSU men’s hockey season ticket

pick-up dates set

PLATTSBURGH — In preparation for the 2012-13 Plattsburgh State men’s hockey season, the Plattsburgh State Field House has announced ticket pick-up times for its current season-ticket holders.

For fans interested in picking up their season tickets prior to the first game of the season, tickets will be available for pick-up on Friday, Oct. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Field House lobby. Ticket packages must be paid in full at the time of pick-up, and photo identification required.

Season tickets will also be available Saturday, Oct. 20, at the men’s exhibition game against Concordia University in the lobby of the Field House, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Ticket-package pick up will continue for the remainder of the season during pre-game box office hours.

The capacity for men’s hockey season tickets has been met; therefore, new season ticket requests are not being accepted at this time.

Any questions in regards to tickets should be directed to the Field House at 564-4062.

Marine Electronics course starts


PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Sail and Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, is offering a course in Marine Electronics beginning on Monday, Oct. 8, at the Lodge at Gander Mountain Sports in the Champlain Center Mall.

The newly updated course consists of three modules: Marine Electrical Systems, Marine Communications Systems and Marine Navigation Systems. It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Monday evenings and run for approximately 24 weeks. While United States Power Squadron instructors are volunteers and there is no charge for the course, there is a charge of $70 for books and materials for all three modules. There is a reduced price for those wishing to take only one or two modules or those who wish to share a book with a family member. Holdridge catches touchdown pass

RINDGE, N.H. — Franklin Pierce freshman Michael Holdridge, a Peru graduate, scored his first collegiate touchdown on a 25-yard pass Saturday, Sept. 30, in a sprint football game against Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania won 24-20. Franklin Pierce is in its inaugural season of sprint football.
