POINT AU ROCHE — There are still several openings for the Town of Beekmantown Kayak Camp, which will take place at Point Au Roche Park from 12-2 p.m. July 8-12.Participants should be entering fifth grade or up.
Camp fee is $4 for town residents and $40 for non-residents. Ability to swim is recommended, but not required.

John Morgan sinks first hole-in-one
LAKE PLACID — John Morgan of Lake Placid recorded his first hole-in-one Friday, July 5 on the fourth hole of the Lake Placid Club Mountain Course. Patrick Edwards, Jerry Bottcher, and Peter Sellers were playing alongside Morgan and witnessed his ace, achieved with a 6 iron on the 177-yard par 3. Unable to see anything other than the flagstick, Morgan was unaware of his ace until he checked the cup and found his ball.
Brunell pee-wee tourney set for Saturday
ALTONA — The Terry Brunell Memorial Pee Wee Boys Baseball Tournament will be held on July 13 at Feinberg Park in Altona.
The first-round schedule will be:
Bulldogs vs plattsburgh Selects on Field 1; Mooers Expos vs North Country All-Stars on Field 2
Altona vs Mooers Cougars on Field 1; Bobcats vs Peru All-Stars on Field 2.
The tournament is meant to offer a fun-filled day for players and spectators while raising funds to assist youth programs in Altona and to provide scholarships to graduating seniors of Northern Adirondack School.
Tournament t-shirts will be on sale. There will be a concession, raffles and more.

Tennis association singles tourney July 20-21
PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Tennis Association will hold its annual singles tournament at the Plattsburgh High School tennis courts on July 20-21.
There will be three divisions contested : men’s open , men’s B and women’s open. Deadline for entry is noon Tuesday, July 16. Entry fees are $15 for NCTA members and $20 for non-members.
