---- — Favreau Div. I Second-Team All-Star

SARANAC — Saranac’s Jamie Favreau was left off of the Northern Soccer League Division I Second-Team All-Star list that was printed in Wednesday’s newspaper.

Favreau, a junior, finished the season with eight shutouts in net for the Chiefs and made an outstanding 205 saves.

She helped Saranac upset No. 2 Northeastern Clinton in the Section VII Class B semifinals with a shutout victory, which included 11 saves.

Plattsburgh FC Soccer holding tryouts

for boys and girls U16 and U18

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh FC is holding tryouts for the upcoming 2013 outdoor season of boys and girls U16 and U18 soccer teams. Tryouts will be Sunday, Dec. 2 and 9 at the Crete Center. The tryouts for the boys U16 will be from noon to 1 p.m. and U18 boys will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The girls U18 tryouts will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. while the U18 girls tryout will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Attendance at both sessions is strongly suggested. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time to fill out all needed information. The 2013 season consists of games in the Vermont Soccer League and three tournaments around the Albany and Vermont areas. The season runs from early April 2013 through mid-July 2013. Keeseville Youth Commission to hold Whiteface Ski Program registration

AUSABLE — The Keeseville Youth Commission will be holding registration for the Whiteface Ski Program at the Town of AuSable Town Hall. Adirondack Mountain Club

holding potluck dinner

PLATTSBURGH — The Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club invites the public to its holiday potluck supper Friday, Dec. 7 at the Conservation Building of the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Franklin CYO basketball to begin season

MALONE — The Franklin CYO Basketball League kicks off its 47th season with five games this Sunday, Dec. 2 at St. Joe’s Gym. Director Ken Cring has been with the league through its entirety and assistant director Wayne Walbridge has served for more than 40 years.

11:45 a.m. – Ogdensburg vs. Chateaugay (Splinters)

Plattsburgh State volleyball hosting clinic

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State volleyball team will be hosting an instructional clinic this Saturday, Dec. 1 in Memorial Hall. The clinic is open to players ages nine to 18. Players and coaches will run the clinic that is split into two sessions. Players aged nine to 13 will work from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while players aged 14 to 18 will go from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Cost is $15 per participant with a group discount for 10 or more players.

Fundraiser to benefit Indoor Baseball

PLATTSBURGH — A bake sale and ticket raffle will be held at Lowes this Sunday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit the North Country Cardinals Indoor Baseball team. Proceeds will go to help with team travel expenses to Vermont during the winter. Multiple bake sale items will be available along with $10 raffle tickets for cash prizes. The team is run by Plattsburgh State baseball coach Kris Doorey who is looking to gain community support for the indoor team. For more information on the team, contact Doorey at 593-7616.

Volunteers needed for Special Olympics

LAKE PLACID — Volunteers are needed for the week Dec. 10 to 13 in Lake Placid to help with event scoring, set up and break down of venues and a welcoming committee. This is the first time that all 210 members of Special Olympics Team USA will be in Lake Placid for the team’s official training camp. After the camp, the team will participate in the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in the Republic of Korea.
