Thanksgiving Clinic set for Nov. 29
PLATTSBURGH — The Second Annual Thanksgiving Clinic will be held Nov. 29 at the Crete Civic Center.
There will be a pitching/catching clinic from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and a hitting/defense clinic from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Each clinic is $25 or $40 for both.

Plattsburgh State baseball coach Kris Doorey, as well as PSU assistant coaches Zack Welch and Brian Burns will be the lead instructors.
Poker Fun Run/Walk set for Dec. 7
PLATTSBURGH — The 8th-annual Poker Fun Run/Walk, to benefit the Clinton County Christmas Bureau, will be held Saturday, Dec. 7. The beginning and end of the run/walk will be Geoffrey’s Pub in Plattsburgh.
The event starts at noon, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. The first 150 to register will receive an event t-shirt. This is not a timed event and all runners and walkers are welcome.
Along the route, each participant will be issued five playing cards. The person with the best poker hand at the completion of the event will win the pot. Any ties for the best hand will share the pot.

Cardinals earn fifth straight Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — For the fifth consecutive season, the Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.
During the 2012-13 academic year, the Cardinals recorded a team GPA of 3.21, making them one of 862 collegiate soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) that earned the accolade that recognizes team success in the classroom as well as on the pitch.
In order to be considered for the award, a team must secure a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
