---- — Plattsburgh Soccer Camp registration Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — Final registration for the Plattsburgh Soccer Camp will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the base oval soccer field.

Participants may complete their registration and pick up their ball and t-shirt. Walk-ons are welcome at this time. The camp is for ages 6 to 17 years old and divided in appropriate age groupings. Cost is $100, and the camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. July 22 to 26 at the base oval.

AuSable Forks FD Slow Pitch tournament set for this weekend

AUSABLE FORKS — The AuSable Forks Fire Department will hold its 23rd Annual Slow Pitch Softball Tournament today through Sunday at Billy Mitchell Memorial Field.

The Dedication Ceremony will be at 6 p.m. today, and the first of three games that night will start at 6:30 p.m.

A full concession stand will be available.

Golf for Sight Tournament Aug. 2

PORT KENT — NCAVI will be hold its 10th annual Golf for Sight Tournament Aug. 2 at Harmony Golf Club. The event raises funds to provide free services to people of all ages who are blind, legally blind and visually impaired throughout Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties.

Registration will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m., and there will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The format is a four-person scramble, and 18 teams will be accepted. The registration deadline is July 26.

There will be a $5,000 hole-in-one prize, additional hole-in-one prizes, longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests, a blind putting contest, raffles, prizes and a barbecue and awards ceremony.

PLATTSBURGH — The American North Sports Center is offering World Class Power Skating Classes Aug. 11 to 14. Y-Tri set for Aug. 3

POINT AU ROCHE — The Plattsburgh YMCA will be running its 28th annual Y-Tri Triathlon Race on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The event will be at the Point Au Roche State Park and involves a half-mile lake swim, 18-mile bike section, and four-mile run (bike and run courses are flat).

Shirts to all participants as well as a buffet lunch following the race. Awards to top individuals and teams.

Register at the YMCA (17 Oak St.) or at the race from 6:45 to 8 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m.

K of C/Red Cross Charity Golf Classic Aug. 14

MORRISVILLE — The 17th annual Knights of Columbus Council 6067 with the American Red Cross Golf Classic will be held Aug. 14 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club with an 11 a.m. shotgun start.

This four-man best ball tournament has many give-aways, including four hole-in-one chances and a $200 coupon for Maui-Jim sunglasses for each golfer. There are still some openings.

PFC U16 girls win Clifton Park tourney

CLIFTON PARK — The Plattsburgh Football Club girls U16 team won the Clifton Park International Soccer Classic championship last weekend.

After dropping a tough 7-2 decision to the Gloucester Hornets of Ottawa, Ontario in the opening game, the PFC girls rallied to win the next four games to reach the final.

In the final, PFC defeated the host Clifton Park Sun Devils 2-1 to win the title.

Team members include Katie Matott, Brooke Knight, Brielle Carnright, Sam Spear, Summer Gillespie, Kelly Drollette, Lindsey Harris, Kelsey Senecal, Maddy Tucker, Sarah Duquette, Hailey McLaughlin, Amie Eggleston, Amy LoTemplio, Anna Lashway and Rebecca Heywood. The team is coached by Mary LoTemplio.

City offering Learn to Sail Classes

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is offering Learn to Sail Classes for youth, teens and adults July 29 to Au. 2.

The Youth Sailing Class (ages 7 to 11) will be held from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The Teen Sailing Class (ages 12 to 17) will held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the Adult Sailing Class (ages 18 and older) will held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Participants will learn the basics of rigging points of sail, sailing maneuvers, safety and recovery in a safe environment. There will be a pre-requisite swim test, and students must provide their own PFD. It is $175 per participant.

USA Hockey junior camp tickets available

LAKE PLACID — Tickets are currently on sale for the 2013 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp that will take place Aug. 3 to 10. Team USA will face Canada, Finland and Sweden throughout the week in preparation for the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.

Tickets can be purchased at WhiteFaceLakePlacid.com, by phone at 523-3330 or at the Olympic Center Box Office. A single-day ticket, which include two games, is available to adults for $15, while students (17 and under) and seniors (65 and older) are $10. A full-session pass, which includes 10 games, is $70 for adults and $45 for students and seniors. All games will be played at the Olympic Center’s 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.

Riverside Lanes seeks Wednesday night teams

AUSABLE FORKS — Riverside Lanes in AuSable Forks is seeking to rejuvenate its Wednesday night league.

It’s a handicap league, featuring five-man teams, and it bowls Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.

Saranac youth soccer registration July 24-25

SARANAC — The Town of Saranac will hold registration for mini-mites, mites and pee wee soccer at the town hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 24 and from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. on July 25. Proof of age is mandatory. Coaches are needed for all ages.
