Renegade 100 tops Airbornecard tonight
PLATTSBURGH — The Key RD Trailer Sales Renegades are in it for the long haul tonight as Airborne Speedway returns to action after last Saturday’s rainout.
Furniture World of VT, sponsor of the long-distance event, has offered a $500 bonus to the race leader at the mandatory pit stop on lap 50, if the driver opts to restart at the rear of the field and comes back to lead the final lap. If the offer goes unaccepted, the bonus money will be split between two top-10 finishers as determined by draw.
Josh Terry of Essex won last year’s Renegade 100 after halfway leader Kevin Boutin’s bid for the bonus money fell one spot short.
UniFirst and MoldRite are co-sponsors of tonight’s card which includes DIRTcar Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Limited Late Models and Mini Mods.
Defending Ernie’s Tools Modified champion Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT leads Jessey Mueller of Olmstedville 166-152 in the point standings with three events completed. Leon Gonyo of Chazy trails Mueller by eight points.
Plattsburgh’s Nick Heywood, who has finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in three starts, is the J&S Steel Sportsman Modified point leader.
Airborne Speedway is located on Broderick Rd just off Rte 22 one mile south of I-87 exit 36. Grandstands open at 4 p.m. Qualifying heats begin at 6 p.m. Admission is $12/adults, kids 12 and under admitted free.
Siberian Rod and Gun Club announces meetings
PLATTSBURGH — The Siberian Rod and Gun Club will hold a regular meeting June 4 at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse.
The annual meeting will be held on June 8 at the village offices at 5 p.m.
City Adult Soccer & Basketball League Registrations Open
PLATTSBURGH — The Adult Basketball Leagues will play at the City Recreation Center with Open Women’s taking place on Tuesday evenings (June 18 - August 13) and Open Men’s taking place on Monday evenings (June 17 - August 12). Each team will play eight games (two, 18-minute half games) with the top four teams making the playoffs. Fee to register is $500 per team. Deadline is June 10.
The Adult Soccer Leagues will play at Penfield Park in the Soccer/Football field. Open Women’s Soccer will take place on Friday evenings (June 21-August 16) and the ever popular Adult Coed League will take place on Wednesday evenings (June 19-August 14). Each team will play eight games (two, 25-minute half games) with the top four teams making the playoffs. Fee to register is $425 per team. Deadline is June 12.
Disc golf tourney June 8
CADYVILLE — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department and the Adirondack Disc Golf Association are cosponsoring a Teens & Tweens Disc Golf Tournament June 8.
The tournament will be held at the Cadyville Disc Golf Park on Goddeau Road. There will be a beginner’s clinic at 4 p.m., players meeting at 4:45 p.m., with the actual tournament starting at 5 p.m.
The disc golf tournament is free of charge for all youth in grades 6-12. The tournament is for beginners and experienced disc golf players. The first 20 participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Golf tournament slated for June 14
PERU — The 27th Annual Golf Tournanment Fundraiser will take place at Adirondack Golf and Country Club June 14, starting at 10 a.m.

PLATTSBURGH — The 32nd-Annual Butcher Block Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 24 at Bluff Point. Applications are available at the restaurant.
Dirty Dog Mud Run to be held at Titus Mountain
MALONE — The ever-growing sport of mud running and adventure racing has made its way to Malone. Champlain Valley Search and Rescue Canine Unit plans to host the first Dirty Dog Mud Run fundraiser at Titus Mountain Family Ski Center. The run consists of 20 obstacles spread out over seven kilometers up and down the lower mountain.
The Dirty Dog Mud run is going to be held in October at Titus Mountain. This event is rain, shine, or sleet and registration is open now. Racers can compete individually or in teams. PSU women’s soccer team to hold beach soccer tourney
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team, on Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and August 4, will be hosting its second-annual Beach Soccer Tournament at the Plattsburgh City Beach.
The co-ed tournament will feature four divisions, including an open adult division for players 20 and older, an under-20 division, a teen division for players ages 13 to 15, and a pre-teen division for players 12 and under. The open adult division and the under-20 division will compete on Saturday, while the teen and pre-teen divisions will play on Sunday.
Teams will be comprised of five members each and at least one female player must be on the field at all times. The registration fee for the tournament is $100 per team. Duniho, Rasco top bicycle time trials
POINT AU ROCHE — Course record holder Kevin Duniho led a group of 13 bicyclists with a time of 12 minutes, 26 seconds over the 10-mile Point au Roche course. Erin Rasco led the women with time of 27:45 on a windy night.
The time trials are free and open to novice and experienced riders. Sign up after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at the Point au Roche firehouse; first rider starts at 6 p.m.
