Rock records first career hole-in-one

PORT KENT — John Rock carded his first-ever hole-in-one of May 29 at Harmony Golf Club and Community. Rock aced the par-three, 130-yard third hole and his shot was witnessed by Mike Rock, Dick Wood and Bill Brokinhagan.

Plattsburgh State men’s basketball offers skills camp

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh State men’s basketball will be hosting its annual TC Skills Boys Basketball Camp from June 30 to July 3.

Summer mixed bowling league has opening

PLATTSBURGH — The Guys and Gals Summer non-sanctioned Bowling League has an opening for a bowler, age 50 or older. The league meets at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Canton relay team wins national title 

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A state championship was not enough to satisfy four standout runners from Canton High School’s girls outdoor track and field team.

Eight days after claiming the state Division II title in the 3,200-meter relay, Canton’s Rebecca DelRossi, Gemma DelRossi, Laura Pierce and Maria Ricalton won a national championship.

The quartet finished first in the girls four-mile relay at the New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., Sunday, completing the race in 20 minutes, 19.84 seconds.
