Indoor Rifle Range activities to be held April 9
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club will host a fun night of shooting at its Indoor Rifle Range on Route 9, on Tuesday, April 9. Participants should arrive between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. to register. Activities will include archery, running boar, air rifle and air pistol shooting at zombie targets, and various .22 rifle shooting games. Cost is $5 per person, and participants need to provide their own ammunition or pick up some at the club. All equipment provided is free. Lifeguard/First Aid RecertificationMay 4
PLATTSBURGH — The Department of Sport and wellness is offering a non-credit Lifeguard/First Aid Recertification Course on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students must have certification in Lifeguard/Waterfront/First Aid. Registration is in 312 Memorial Hall.
Cost is $75. Copies of certification must accompany enrollment form and fee. This renewal does not renew CPR for Lifeguards. Adk Open disc golf tourney April 20
PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Disc Golf Association and the Town Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department are sponsoring the Adirondack Open Disc Golf Tournament at the Cadyville Disc Golf Course April 20.
The event is open to the all skill levels and abilities. The tournament will feature two rounds of disc golf, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Those interested can pre-register online at www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Adirondack_Open_2013. Participants who pre-register will receive an ADKGA disc as part of the player pack.
This is the second of six local Disc Golf tournaments scheduled for the courses at Cadyville and AuSable Chasm this year.

Trout Unlimited to Hold First Women’s Fly Fishing Seminar
PLATTSBURGH — The Lake Champlain Chapter of Trout Unlimited will sponsor a two-day fly-fishing seminar for women June 22 and 23 on the Saranac River in Plattsburgh.
Classers will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Conservation Building on the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Plattsburgh, and at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 23.
A free light breakfast will be provided on both Saturday as well as lunch Sunday.
The deadline to register is June 8. Registration is $50. Participants must be age 18 or older and must have a current New York State fishing license. The seminar is limited to 12 participants.

PLATTSBURGH — David Gregory bowled a 300 game in the Guys and Gals Senior Bowling League at North Bowl Lanes Wednesday.
Gregory had a series of 259-300-194-753.
Flyers drop decision to Keweenaw in U19 Tournament
SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Chazy Flyers girls’ U-19 hockey team dropped a 6-2 setback to Keweenaw (Michigan) in the Tier II National Championships Friday.
Emily Raville scored both goals for the Flyers in the two-goal loss.
Shamrocks conclude round-robin play with No. 1 seed
SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Vermont Shamrocks girls’ U-16 hockey team earned a 9-1 win in its final game of round-robin play.
With the victory, the Shamrocks earned a No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs.
Local athletes Amy LoTemplio and Cailee LaPorte played well defensively.
Vermont found out its tournament opponent late Friday night.
