ADK events scheduled

PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for their Wednesday Walk About Town on April 3,

Team leader for the event is Lynn Valenti. Meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of City Hall to walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood.

On April 12, the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK will hold its monthly program and meeting.

The program begins at 7 p.m. and features Gib Brown, who will present a lecture and slide show on his recent visit to Prague, the Golden City.

A business meeting takes place immediately after the program. Both the program and business meeting are free and take place in the second floor auditorium of the Old Clinton County Courthouse on the corner of Margaret and Court Streets.

Plattsburgh Little League holding tryouts

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Little League will hold Major League tryouts April 10-12 from 5:15-7:15 p.m. at Penfield Park.

Players ages 11 and 12 are required to tryout. Players 9 and 10 are given the option of trying out for the Majors or staying in the Miners.

Lumber Jills back in action April 27

PLATTSBURGH — The Lumber Jills (2-1) came out on top during their last home bout against Syracuse’s Battery Brigade, and are ready to face Capital City’s Derby Dolls from Ottawa, Ontario on April 27.

The bout will take place at the Plattsburgh City Recreation Center on the U.S. Oval. Doors open to the public at 5 p.m., with the first whistle at 6 p.m.

The halftime show will be performed by the Autism Alliance of Northeastern New York of Plattsburgh, an organization that works with families in our community that are affected by autism through support and education.
