Chapple, Martz toss 300 games at North Bowl
PLATTSBURGH — Taylor Chapple and Bob Martz recently rolled 300 games at North Bowl Lanes.
Chapple tossed a 300 while bowling for Action Auto in the Thursday Industrial League on October 10. Chapple, who carries a 217 average in the league, finished the night with a 223-300-194-717 series.
Martz, meanwhile, bowled his 300 for Champlain Valley Classic Cruisers in the Guys & Gals Senior League on October 16. Martz has a 215 league average and ended up with a 300-193-256-749 series.
Algonquin Chapter hosts monthly meeting
PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for its monthly program and meeting on the second floor auditorium of the Old Clinton County Courthouse on the corner of Margaret and Court Streets Nov. 1.
At 7 p.m., Ben Tabor, a Department of Environmental Conservation and Wildlife Technician, will give a talk on “The Natural History of Black Bears.”
A business meeting will follow at 8 p.m.
Both the program and meeting are free.
Riverside Lanes Bowling Tournament to begin
AUSABLE FORKS — The 37th-annual Riverside Lanes Handicap Bowling Tournament will be held the weekends of October 26-27 and November 2-3, 9-10 and 16-17.
Estimated first-place prize in the men’s/mixed division will be $1,200 and first place in the women’s division $450.
There are openings for the 6 p.m. shift on Saturday, October 26, as well as the rest of the weekends. There are applications at all local bowling centers and phone-in reservations can be made at 647-9905.

PLATTSBURGH — The local basketball officials organizations are looking for new members in the Clinton, Franklin and Essex Counties. Officials would work local high school games.
