Chateaugay students raise over $7,000 in benefit

CHATEAUGAY — On June 4, students at Chateaugay Central School jumped all over heart disease and stroke by participating in the Jump Rope For Heart. The students raised more than $7,000 for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease and stroke, our nation’s No. 1 and 4 killers, respectively.

“I’m so pleased with the success of this year’s event,” said Michelle Reynolds, Jump Rope For Heart coordinator. “Our students get so excited for this event; it’s a big party atmosphere. Grades one through six were sponsored by family and friends. Our small community always gives so much.”

Jump Rope For Heart is a program that promotes physical activity and heart health through jumping rope and is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

To make a donation or to find our more about Jump Rope For Heart, call the nearest American Heart Association office or call 1-800-AHA-USA1 (1-800-242-8721) or visit heart.org/jump.
