Spring All-Star photos, information needed

PLATTSBURGH — Season information and photos are needed for the All-Star teams from the spring season.

The following schools are missing photos: Beekmantown (softball), Moriah (softball), Northeastern Clinton (baseball, softball), Peru (softball), Plattsburgh (softball).

The Press-Republican also requests that all coaches send in information on their players that made the All-Star team by Monday if they have not done so already.

Cardinal Hoop Camp has openings

PLATTSBURGH — The Cardinal Hoop Camp for girls ages 8 to 17 still has openings. The camp will be hosted at the Memorial Hall Gymnasium on the Plattsburgh State campus from July 8 to12. For more information or questions, contact coach Cheryl Cole at or 564-4147.

Michelob Golf Classic at for July 21

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Distributing will host the Michelob Golf Classic on Sunday, July 21 at Bluff Point Golf & Country Club. The Michelob is believed to be the longest running golf event, dating back more than 40 years.

This year’s event will be individual match play. Golfers will be flighted according to their handicaps in three or four flights based on the number of entries. Golfers age 65 and over may play from the gold tees assuming they have an established handicap from the golds. Golfers are encouraged to enter as foursomes, but individuals will be accepted and paired up.

There will be gross and net prizes in each flight, as well as an optional skins game. The entry fee is $30 for members and $60 for non-members. Space is limited and golfers are encouraged to sign up early. For more information, contact Casey, at or call 572-7479.

Open soccer nights start July 3

ROUSES POINT — Friends of NCCS Girls Soccer will be hosting open soccer nights at the Rouses Point Recreation Park on Wednesday evenings, beginning July 3. If interested in short workout and small-field scrimmaging to tune up for the high school season, please join us. All are welcome at no cost. The sessions will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and players should bring water and a soccer ball.
