Patriots, Indians tie in swimming

CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley and Peru finished tied at 85-85 in a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls’ swim meet Tuesday. AuSable Valley was originally believed to have won the meet 86-84, but an error with the electronic timing system in the backstroke event was discovered, and the revised times resulted in a tie.

The Barracks to hold 10-4-4 tourney on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks Golf Course will be holding a 10-4-4 tournament on Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. The format is two men, two women or mixed teams, with total handicap divided by three.

On the par threes, each player will play his/her own ball and both scores will count. The par fours will be played as a scramble and the par fives will be alternate shots. Entry fee is $50 per team and includes skins, and $30 for non-members which includes green fees and cart.

Bigelow, King, Bell win Dermatis golf tourney

PLATTSBURGH — The team of Rusty Bigelow, Carl King and Jack Bell combined to finish in first place in the third-annual Walter Dermatis Golf Tournament held Sept. 18 at the AuSable Club.

Second place went to Drew Sabella, Herb Crispell and Phil Devita. Bigelow was the medalist, while closest to the pin were won by King and Bigelow.

Hunter education class to be held

WESTPORT — A hunter education class will be held on Oct. 23, 24 and 25 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Westport Fish & Game Club.

Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club increases operating hours

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club indoor shooting range will begin to increase its hours of operation with cooler weather here.

The club will now open on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. for rifle, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. for pistol, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for rifle and Friday at 7:30 p.m. for pistol. Free instruction and equipment are provided.
