REDFORD — The Trailgroomers Snowmobile Club will be holding a meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9 at Big Daddy’s in Redford.

Cedar Hollow Hunting Club hosts rabbit derby

REDFORD — The Cedar Hollow Hunting Club will host its annual rabbit derby all day today and tomorrow. Tickets are $10, which includes spaghetti dinners today and the last one occurring tomorrow at 5 p.m. Winners will be determined by random draw. Walk-ins are welcome.

Hoops tourneys scheduled

PERU — The IAABO Board #43 of area basketball officials will sponsor a fourth through sixth grade boys’ basketball tournament Feb. 23 and 24 in Peru to raise money for scholarships and a 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball tournament Feb. 16 and 17 in Peru.

Both tournaments will consist of 16 teams in a three-division format. All teams are guaranteed three games with most teams getting more.

Indoor range to be open on Mondays

Plattsburgh — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club will now open its indoor rifle range at 6 p.m. on Mondays due to increased demand.

Currently, the range is open for rifle shooting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pistol shooting takes place on Wednesday nights.

Learn-to-swim program offered

PLATTSBURGH — The Department of Sport and Wellness at SUNY Plattsburgh is offering a nine-week “Learn to Swim Program” on Saturday mornings, from Feb. 2-April 13. There will be no classes on March 16 or 23.

The cost is $45 per student. Children must be five years or older, comfortable in water and 47 inches tall.

Basketball skills clinic, competition set

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau, Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department and Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team will host a free Basketball Skills Clinic and Competition on Monday, Jan. 14 at Memorial Hall Gymnasium.

The event is free and open to boys and girls of all ages. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. Registration will begin at 4:45 p.m. with the skills clinic starting at 5 p.m. and the competition at 6 p.m.

Meet the Cardinals slated for Jan. 19

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau will present Meet the Cardinal Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the SUNY Plattsburgh Memorial Hall Gymnasium on Rugar Street.

The Cardinal teams will take on conference rival Oneonta with the women’s game at 2 p.m. and the men’s contest at 4 p.m.

Youngsters who wear their county basketball team jersey and are accompanied by a paying adult will receive free admission and a free Go Cards wristband. There will be an autograph session held after each game.
