---- — SUNY Plattsburgh Lady Ruggers

in regionals

PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh Lady Ruggers, with an undefeated season and their first conference title under their belts, will face Wheaton College of Norton. Ma. in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Regional Playoffs on Sunday at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Ma.

The winner advances to the NSCRO Nationals in Cherry Hill, N.J. on November 17 and 18.

Malone team still leads in Riverside tourney

AUSABLE FORKS — Malone’s Lucky Strike Lanes’ team of Scott McLaughlin, Rick Jubert, Eric Avery, Connor Jubert and Jim Varno, with a 3381 total, still hold down first place in the men’s division following the second weekend of bowling in the Riverside Lanes Tournament.

In second place, with a 3245, is the Plattsburgh’s Brooke’s Guys team of Brooke Vaughn, Jason Bruno, Kevin Hart, Steve Stone and Mike Watts. In third, with a 3238, is the North Bowl Younger Team of Chad Duprey, Barry Ano, Cory Jock, Nick Bouyea and Mike Watts.

Brent LaGrave, bowling for Big D’s House 1, tossed a 300 game.

Continuing to lead the women’s division, with a 2778, is the Hoosick Falls’ team of Lisa Davis, Pam Sbrega, Lisa Stone, Rosanne Stone and Michelle Schmigel.

Beekmantown girls’ hockey practice November 13

CHAZY — Practice for the Beekmantown girls’ high school hockey team will begin on Tuesday, November 13 at 4 p.m. at Scotts Memorial Rink.

All girls from the merger schools of Northeastern Clinton, Beekmantown, Chazy, Saranac, Seton Catholic, Peru and Plattsburgh High who are participating this season should attend.

YMCA registering for youth basketball

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA Youth Basketball Program has begun registration which will last until December 5. This is an eight-week program for boys and girls in grades one and two (older kindergarten students may also play).

The program starts the week of December 10 and practices/scrimmages are held in the early evening. A total of two practices/scrimmages will be held per week. The program is open to all communities.

All participants receive their own YMCA basketball, tee shirt uniform and award. Lower baskets are used for this fun instructional program. Volunteer coaches are needed.
