NCCS has opening for assistant hockey coach
CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton has an immediate opening for a varsity boys’ assistant hockey coach.

Peru Ski Club holding registration
PERU — The Peru Ski Club will be holding its annual registration day on Nov. 13 at Town Hall.
Signups will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Registration forms and club details are located on the Peru website at perutown.com. This registration is for students ages 8 to18 of the Peru Central School District.
Students must be present at registration to have a photo taken.
PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is sponsoring a snowmobile safety course Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
New York State law requires that any youth between ages 10-18 must first complete its safety training course in order to operate a snowmobile on any property other than their parents’ or guardians’.
The free course is open to any Clinton County youth between ages 10-18 who wishes to complete the course and receive a safety certificate. It will be held at the Town of Plattsburgh office complex located at 151 Banker Road.
Participants must pick up a workbook and complete it prior to attending class. Anyone wishing to take the course is asked to preregister with the Recreation office prior to the first session. For further information, call 562-6860 weekdays from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
REDFORD — Hank Puding, of Redford, won a silver medal in ping pong doubles at the Nevada Senior Games, which were held in Las Vegas from Sept. 23-Oct. 13. He estimates that about 100 people competed in ping pong.
This year Puding has competed in the U.S. National Senior Table Tennis Tournament in Cleveland and in the ping pong division of the Huntsman Senior Games in Utah.

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Central School Athletic Department will hold a Fall Sports recognition ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school auditorium.
This ceremony is open to the whole community. JV and varsity student athletes will be recognized from the fall 2013 season.
PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks will hold a 10-4-4 Tournament Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
The format is two man, woman or mixed teams with a total handicap divided by three. On the par 3’s each player will play his own ball and both scores will count. The par 4’s will be played as a scramble and the par 5’s will be alternate shot.
Entry fee is $50 per team and includes skins, $25 for nonmembers include green fees and cart.
