Rod, gun club schedules Work Day

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club will hold its Fall Work Day at the range on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Various, outdoor and indoor projects are planned.

Visitors are welcome to attend and check out the club facilities, including its indoor shooting range.

Chazy soccer teams plan bottle drive

CHAZY — The Chazy boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer teams will hold a bottle drive on Saturday, Oct. 19 to benefit the Chazy Athletic Association. It will be held in the Chazy Central School parking lot, but pick-ups will be available.

Valcour camps talk set for ADK dinner

PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) at its Annual Harvest Dinner and program Oct. 19 at Trinity Episcopal Church.

There will be appetizers at 5 p.m. followed by a turkey dinner at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m. Roger Harwood will present a multimedia program entitled “20th Century Camps at Valcour Island” in the church sanctuary. Roger’s program is free and open to the public.

The cost of the dinner is $15. After expenses are satisfied, the remaining proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Community Meals Program at Trinity. 

The deadline for reservations for the dinner is Oct. 15 and can be made by making a check payable to Algonquin ADK and mailed to Kay Washbourne, 7645 Route 9, Plattsburgh, N.Y 12901. Kay can be reached at 563-2387.

Rouses Point announces ice times

ROUSES POINT — The Rouses Point Civic Center has announced its public skating and open hockey times for the month of October.

Public skating will be offered Monday-Friday from 4-5:20 p.m., it is also available Saturday from 5-6:50 p.m. and Oct. 20 from 2-3:50 p.m. Cost to skate is $2.

Open hockey is offered Monday-Wednesday from 9:30-11:20 a.m. with a cost of $5.
