---- — Annis named All-American

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich senior prop Baylee Annis of Saranac Lake was named a 2012-13 USA Rugby Division I Collegiate Second Team All-American.

Annis was an integral cog in the Norwich women’s rugby team’s run to second place in the USA Rugby Division I National Tournament last spring. She played and started in 15 matches last season, registering three tries while being the leader of Norwich’s forward pack.

Malone Adult Basketball meeting Sept. 30

MALONE — The Malone Adult Basketball League will meet Sept. 30 at the AMVETS on the Whippleville Road in Malone.

The Women’s Division will start at 6 p.m., while the men and old-timers will meet at 6:45 p.m. All teams that intend to participate this season must have a representative at this meeting. For further information, contact league director Ken Cring at 483-2221.

Fun Run series continues at Cumberland Bay

PLATTSBURGH — Fifty-two runners competed in a Fun Run on Monday hosted by the Clinton County Youth Bureau at Cumberland Bay State Park. Stretching and running tips are given before the start of the runs. The series will continue Sept. 30. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. and runs at 5:15 pm. All runs are free.

Team O’Meara takes first place at The Barracks

PLATTSBURGH — Team O’Meara took first place at the Gary Babbie Scramble Fall Classic held Wednesday at The Barracks Golf Gourse. Team Burgess placed second. Skins were won by O’Meara, Lamare, Ambrosio and Bud Pepper. The No Par Award went to Cliff Goff, and the No Fairway Hit Award went to Paul Sweeny. The next event will be held Sept. 30.

Farrell, Etesse record hole-in-ones at Harmony

PORT KENT — Herb Farrell, on September 24, recorded his first hole-in-one when he aced the par-three, third hole at Harmony Golf Club. Farrell used a pitching wedge and the shot was witnessed by Gene Carroll and Chuck Chatelle.

Jerry Etesse, on September 21, used a 15 wood on the par-three, sixth hole at Harmony for a hole-in-one. His son, Todd, witnessed the ace.

College Exposure Shoot-Out next month

RENSSELAER — Upstatescoutingservice.com has announced the 2013 College Exposure Shoot-Out will be held at Rensselaer High School.

The boys’ event is on October 6 and the girls’ event on October 20. The College Exposure Shoot-Out is intended to give college coaches an opportunity to evaluate the ability and potential of those who desire to someday play college basketball.
