Women’s basketball announces final Kids Nite Out

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team will host its final Kids’ Nite Out event of 2013-14 for children ages 5 to 13 March 29. There will be swimming, sports, games, movies and arts and crafts.

The Kids’ Nite Out event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The cost is $10 per child with a special family rate of $7 for each additional child.

Registration will only take place on-site and a parent or guardian must be present at registration, which will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Cardinals’ track and field opener canceled

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State outdoor track and field teams will not be competing at the Hamilton College Continental Invitational.

The meet, originally scheduled for March 29, has been canceled due to poor weather conditions.

Check GoCardinalSports.com throughout the spring sports season to stay up-to-date regarding any further event cancellations or event rescheduling.

Peru Wolfpack host Spring Shootout

PERU — The Peru Wolfpack girls’ basketball club will be hosting their 11th Annual Spring Shootout at the Peru Middle School and High School Gymnasiums May 3 and 4. There will be two age divisions — modified (grades 7 to 9) and varsity (grade 10 and 11). This tournament is for middle school and high school teams only. Each team is guaranteed four games. There will be a full concession stand on site, and the entry fee for the tournament is $275.

Honorable mention All-American honors bestowed on Payne

LILBURN, Ga. — The 2013-14 season brought about a multitude of firsts for the Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team as well as senior star Kathleen Payne.
