Mat Cat Wrestling Tournament will be held Saturday

ELLENBURG — The 28th Annual Northern Adirondack Central School Mat Cat Wrestling Tournament will be held Saturday.

Those eligible must provide proof of age upon request as of March 16. The format is a four-person round robin with school rules applying. The tournament reserves the right to combine weight classes. There are no double entries.

Entry fee is $15 per wrestler, with trophies for first, second, third and fourth place. There will also be a wall chart for each place-winner. Every wrestler will receive a trophy. Weigh-ins will be from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Wrestling will begin as soon as the wall charts are posted.

Age groups include: 6-and-under; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; and 15-17. Weights will be determined after the entries are received.

The cafeteria will be open all day for refreshments. Coolers, if brought, are to be left in the cafeteria and may not be taken into the gym. T-shirts will also be sold.

Rod and gun club indoor range open Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club will open its indoor range from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for public shooting Saturday.

Individuals that could not make it to the range during the week because of the snow storm are welcome. Non-members are always welcome. The club will provide target rifles at no cost. Normal range fees will be charged.

Saranac Cardinals to hold AAU meeting

SARANAC — The Saranac Cardinals girls’ AAU basketball program will be having an informational meeting on March 19 in the large instruction room in the high school at 6 p.m.

All girls in grades 5 to 11 who are interested should attend with a parent. Tournament dates and program cost will be discussed at that time. Tryouts will be held on March 21 and March 22 at times to be determined.
