Lake Champlain Lakers registration on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Lake Champlain Lakers AAU basketball program will be holding registration on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at OLVA gym.

The Lakers program runs from March through June. This year’s program will begin with a camp format starting the weekend of March 16 and will continue with the travel portion from May through June.

All interested boys and girls ages nine to 17 can sign up at this time. For more information, contact Larry Converse, at 569-7431, or check the program’s website, at www.lclakers.org.

North Bowl Singles Shootout on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes will be holding a Singles Shootout on Sunday, with qualifying shifts at noon and 2:15 p.m. First place, based on 50 entries, will be $300 and the top 15 or one in five entries will cash.

Entry fee is $35, with re-entry at $30. Handicap is 80 percent of the bowler’s average and 220, with a maximum of 32 pins per game. The highest 2012-13 average, with a minimum of 21 games bowled, will be used. If no 2012-13 average exists, the bowler will be assigned an average based on this year’s average and past performance.

Qualifying will consist of four games across eight lanes. The top 15 will quality for match play, with the high qualifier getting a first-round bye. Jackpot is $5 — $1 for each game and $1 for series. Scratch scores will be used for jackpots. All jackpots are combined for both shifts. Brackets are also available.

All bowlers must sign in 15 minutes prior to their shift or call and reserve a spot 30 minutes prior to the start of the shift. For more information, contact John Munson, Bob Munson, Dan Munson or Bob Trombley, at 561-1690.

Town of Schuyler Falls holding registration

PERU — The Town of Schuyler Falls Recreation Department is currently conducting registration for its baseball, softball and t-ball programs. The program is open for town youths ages four to 16.

Registration forms can be picked up at the town hall, Morrisonville Redemption Center, Rock’s Grocery and the Sunoco Gas Station (Irish Settlement Road). Forms must be completed and returned to the town hall by Thursday, April 3. For further information, contact the town hall, at 563-1129, or Sam Campbell, at 643-2542.
