28th Annual Mud Pond Rabbit Hunt Jan. 18

SARANAC — The 28th Annual Mud Pond Rabbit Hunt and Spaghetti Dinner will be held Jan. 18 and 19 at the Saranac American Legion on the Wilson road in Redford.

Entry tickets are $12, which includes two spaghetti dinners. Additional meals can be purchased for $6 and takeout available. Meals are served between noon and 6 p.m. both days.

Tickets are available at the 1619 legion in West Plattsburgh and 1618 in Redford.

Watts rolls 300 in Pepsi Classic at North Bowl

PLATTSBURGH — Mike Watts, bowling for Malted Balls in the Monday Night Pepsi Classic at North Bowl Lanes, tossed a 300 game on Jan. 6 and finished the evening with a 227-300-175-702 series. Watts carries a 239 league average.

Gregory tosses 300 in North Bowl seniors’ league

PLATTSBURGH — Dave Gregory, bowling for Bazzano’s Pizza in the Guys & Gals Senior League at North Bowl Lanes, rolled a 300 game on Jan. 8 and ended up with a 218-216-300-734 series.

Winter sports deadline Jan. 20

PLATTSBURGH — The deadline to register for City of Plattsburgh Winter Indoor Sports, which includes session II of indoor soccer, youth and adult flag football and adult basketball is Jan. 20.

Champlain Valley Outdoors Club meeting Tuesday

WEST CHAZY — The Champlain Valley Outdoors Club and Pine Ridge Bowman will hold its first meeting of the new year at the Grange Hall.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rough Riders rifle team season starts Jan. 19

PLATTSBURGH — The Rough Riders Adult and Jr. Rifle Team is set to start their 2014 Rifle League Season. The season kicks off on Jan. 19.

The team practices at the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club indoor shooting range. Team members shoot once a week, either on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday nights.

The team competes in the Vermont Winter Postal League with 13 teams from the New England area.

Last year the club placed second in the league, led by the leagues top shooter Peter Visconti. The Jr’s, led by 10th grader Andrew Visconti, are coached by a former coach of the USMMA Rifle Team.
