Livermore Wrestling Invitational Saturday

ELLENBURG — The 43rd-Annual Northern Adirondack Central Livermore Wrestling Invitational will be held on Saturday at the Northern Adirondack Central School gym. Wrestling will begin at approximately 10 a.m., with the finals slated for 6 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Teams participating include Northern Adirondack, Middlebury, Vt., Massena, Beekmantown, Hadley-Luzerne/Lake George, AuSable Valley, Copenhagen, Franklin Academy, Canton, Potsdam, Ogdensburg Free Academy and Lowville.

LaRock rolls 717 series at North Bowl

PLATTSBURGH — Debbie LaRock, bowling for W.D.C. in the Monday Night Women’s Handicap League at North Bowl, finished with a 258-202-257-717 series on December 16. LaRock has a 190 average in the league.

D’Aust tosses 300 game at North Bowl

PLATTSBURGH — Jerimy D’Aust, bowling for J.P. Signs in the Monday Night Pepsi Classic at North Bowl, recently tossed a 300 game and finished the evening with a 199-279-300-778 series. D’Aust’s league average is 218.

Four Plattsburgh FC players selected to development teams

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh FC players Keegan Frenya, Stuart Baird, Alex Puchalski and Brina Micheels have earned places in their respective age groups in the 2014 Eastern NY Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP). Frenya, Baird, Puchalski, and Micheels were recently named to the teams after a multi-stage tryout process that began in August.

The U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national identification and development program for high-level players. The program identifies and develops youth players throughout the country to represent their state association (ENYYSA), region (Region I) and the United States in soccer competitions. The ODP season will supplement their club team season and begins in March with training, continuing through July with games, a tournament and a developmental camp.

K of C Free Throw Contest Jan. 18

AUSABLE FORKS — Boys and girls ages 9 to 14 from AuSable Forks and Peru are invited to the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at Holy Name School in AuSable Forks. Winners can advance to regional, upstate and state competitions. The New York State Championship Contest will be conducted at the West Point Military Academy.
