Rabbit derby, pork dinner Feb. 8-9
SARANAC — The Eighth Annual Cherry Hill Hunting Club rabbit derby and roast pork dinner will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Saranac American Legion.
Tickets are available at the Saranac American Legion, West Plattsburgh American Legion, C&S Bait and Tackle and Squares Tavern. The final weigh-in is 5:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information, contact 293-8592.
NYSEF celebrating National Club Day Feb. 15
WILMINGTON — The New York Ski Educational Foundation will be celebrating National Club Day with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Feb. 15, recognizing over 400 skiing and snowboarding clubs across the nation.
Established in 1973, NYSEF has been supporting skiing and snowboarding at all levels within all snow sports disciplines. Nine current alumni will be competing in the 2014 Olympic Games, adding to the 190 Olympic and World Championship appearances of NYSEF athletes.
The first National Club Day is a celebration and recognition of the partnership between NYSEF and the USSA. Members of the community are invited to come join us to learn more about the NYSEF programs. Interested persons are invited to try out a program of their choice for a day free of charge.
As part of this event, NYSEF will be participating in a continuous coast-to-coast snow sport parade with clubs across the country in honor of the NYSEF and the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing athletes competing in the Olympics.

Food drive at men’s hockey games
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Elks Lodge will be sponsoring a food drive in conjunction with Plattsburgh State athletics at the men’s hockey games today and Saturday.
Collection bins will be located throughout the Field House this weekend for fans to drop off food donations. All donations collected will be distributed to the Interfaith Food Shelf in Plattsburgh by volunteers from the Elks Lodge.
Both games are set for 7 p.m. at Stafford Ice Arena.
