CCC men’s basketball game rescheduled

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College men’s basketball game scheduled for Wednesday against Hudson Valley Community College has been rescheduled to Thursday at 6 p.m. in anticipation of inclement weather.

Kempainen scores in Saint Michael’s 1-1 tie

BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Saint Michael’s College women’s ice hockey team went 0-1-1 at home during the weekend in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East play, tying Plymouth State University 1-1 Friday before falling to the University of Southern Maine, 4-2, Saturday.

Against Plymouth State, sophomore Amanda Kempainen (Chazy/Chazy Flyers U19) scored the Saint Michael’s goal, while senior Macey Thomas and junior Fernanda Saavedra provided the assists. First-year goalie Abby Burke made 30 saves in the draw for her fourth 30-save game of the season.

Rifle League results

PLATTSBURGH — The Rough Riders Rifle Team of the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club took fourth place this week in League competition, second in the Eastern Division.

They were led by the shooting of Peter Visconti, who fired a 396.

The team just missed out on third place by one point.

This week’s top Junior was Andrew Visconti who fired a 388 and was named to the league’s Jr. All-Stars for the second week in a row. He was joined by fellow Jr’s Amy Visconti and Conner Bish, who also earned a spot on the team.

Peter Visconti was named to the league’s regular all-star team.
