CYH holding skills clinic

CHAZY— Chazy Youth Hockey will be holding a skills clinic on Feb. 18 and 19 at Scotts’ Arena.

The clinic will emphasize multiple hockey-related skills and techniques. The morning session will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will run from 11:30-1 p.m. with a lunch provided.

The cost will be $10 per day for Chazy Youth Hockey members and $15 for nonmembers.

CVAC cheer competition Feb. 27

BEEKMANTOWN — The CVAC league annual cheer competition will be held on Feb. 27 at Beekmantown High School.

The competition will feature multiple teams from around the region. Admission is $5 for spectators and the competition will start at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Team Dog Doctors wins curling competition

PLATTSBURGH— Team Dog Doctors took home first place in this year’s Winterfest Labatt Blue Curling Competition.

Forty teams competed in this year’s double -elimination tournament at The American Legion Post 1619.

Sammy’s Boys took home first place in the Budweiser Caribou Cup Broomball Tournament, and The Mon-Stars placed first in the Bud Light Snow-Pitch Frostball Softball tournament.

AuSable Forks fastpitch meeting Feb. 13

AUSABLE FORKS — The AuSable Forks Fastpitch League will hold its first meeting on Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Bowling Lanes in AuSable Forks.

Bainbridge named to Warwick Basketball Hall of Fame

WARWICK — Don Bainbridge, a retired teacher, coach and athletic director at Beekmantown Central School, is one of five in the Class of 2014 to be inducted into the Warwick High School Boys’ Basketball Hall of Fame on behalf of the Warwick Valley High School Boys’ Basketball Program.

Bainbridge, a 1959 graduate of Warwick, was a 3-year starter on the varsity team (1956-59) and played under Hall of Fame coach Vito Magdelinskas. Bainbridge helped his team win the 1957-58 Orange County League championship and the 1958-59 OCL and Section IX championships.
