4 youths compete in PGA tournament
DELMAR -- Plattsburgh's Ryan Kirkpatick carded a 37-42-79 to finish 12th Tuesday in the boys' 16-18 age division of the first of seven events throughout the summer for the Northeastern New York PGA Junior Golf Tournament. Mechanicville's Ryan Simpson won the boys' 16-18 division at the Normanside Country Club with a 34-35-69.
In the boys' 13-15 division, Delmar's Victor Fox was the medalist with a 37-33-70. Plattsburgh's Ethan Votraw finished in the eighth spot with a 42-37-79.
In the girls' 13-15 age group, AuSable Forks' Jacqueline Hoey took sixth place with a 59-58-117. Winning the competition was East Meredith's Vanessa Fassler with a 38-45-83.
In the boys' 8-12 age group that plays nine holes, Lake Placid's Arthur Griffin finished first out of 19 golfers with a 41.
Crab Island Memorial tourney July 19
PLATTSBURGH -- The 4th-Annual Crab Island Memorial Golf Tournament will be Saturday, July 19 at The Barracks Golf Course. It will have a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and the cost is $65 for non-members and $45 for The Barracks golf members.
All proceeds will be used for scholarships to Clinton Community College. For more information, call Al or Jen, at 561-8706.
K of C Charity Golf Classic August 13
Morrisonville -- The 12th -Annual Council 6067 Golf Classic will be held Wednesday, August 13 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club. This 4-man, best-ball shotgun start has many give a-ways and four hole-in-one chances. Red, White & Blue tourney Saturday
PLATTSBURGH -- The Barracks will hold the Red, White & Blue two-man best-ball tournament on Saturday. Players will start on the first hole at the red tee and follow in order, white and blue. The tee times are as follows:
7:28 a.m.- Mike Dodds, Bob Wieworka, Frank Miller, Josh Hliang
7:36 a.m.- Tim Nephew, C. Voorhees, Len Skillian, Tim Meschinelli
