North Bowl Singles Shootout on Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes will be holding a Singles Shootout on Sunday. Qualifying shifts will be at noon and 2:15 p.m. Based on 50 entries, first place will be worth $300. The top 15 or one in five entries will cash.

Entry fee is $35, with re-entry at $30. Handicap is 80 percent of the difference in your average and 220, with a maximum of 32 pins per game. The highest 2011-2012 average, with a minimum of 21 games, will be used. The top 15 will qualify for match play, with the high qualifier getting a first-round bye.

All bowlers must sign in 15 minutes prior to their shift or call and reserve a spot 30 minutes prior to the start of the shift. For more information, contact John Munson, Bob Munson or Bob Trombley, at 561-1690.

Durkee gets hole-in-one at Adirondack

PERU — Morrisonville’s Nate Durkee used an 8-iron to record a hole-in-one on the par-3, 156-yard eighth hole at Adirondack Golf & Country Club on Thursday. Witness to the ace was his father, Alan Durkee.

sponsor trail run

PLATTSBURGH —The Plattsburgh State Alumni Association is sponsoring the 2012 Cardinal Trail Run, which is set to take place on Saturday, October 20 at the Plattsburgh State Field House as part of homecoming weekend.

The kid’s run will begin at 4 p.m. and is free of charge for all kids wishing to take part. The adult run gets underway at 4:15 p.m., and costs $15.00 per person. All of the proceeds will benefit the Plattsburgh State cross country, track and field and women’s soccer programs.

The first 75 people who sign up for the run will receive a free t-shirt. To register, click on the link provided below then send in the registration form by mail or bring it on the day of the run. Questions about the run can be directed at Plattsburgh State women’s soccer coach Karen Waterbury.
