---- — PLATTSBURGH — Airborne Speedway is offering double features for three divisions for its regular admission price this Saturday, June 8 on Della Auto/Subway Night.
Rain shortened last week’s program, which was to have included the $1,000-to-win Furniture World of Vt. Renegade 100. The Ernie’s Tools DIRTcar Modified event, which was halted after 10 laps, will be resumed where it left off with a second 30-lap Modified feature planned.
The Sportsman Modifieds and the Mini Modifieds will also dispense with qualifying heats and run double features instead. The Limited Late Models, which got their main event – won by Bucko Branham – in last Saturday, are slated for a 25-lap feature.
The Key RD Trailer Sales Renegades will go 100 laps with a competition yellow for a mandatory pit stop scheduled once 50 laps have been completed. Race sponsor Furniture World of VT has posted a $500 bonus for the lap 50 leader if the driver elects to start the second half of the event at the rear. If the bonus is declined, two drivers from the final top-10, not to include the competitor who originally passed it up, will split the money.
Renegades Tylor Terry of Morrisonville and rookie Josh LeClaire of Plattsburgh will start on the front row.
Todd Stone, George Foley and Patrick Dupree held positions 1-2-3 in the Modified feature when it was red-flagged by rainfall.
Grandstands open at 4 p.m. Post time is 6 p.m. Admission is $12/adults, kids 12 and under admitted free. Airborne hosts Dozer Days at the track Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, call 561-3208.
