O'Neills lead AuSable Valley over Saranac Lake in volleyball

CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley continued its stellar play at home with a straight-set victory over Saranac Lake in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball Tuesday.

Mirissa O’Neill paced the Patriots with six points on two aces, six kills, four digs and 10 assists. Miranda O’Neill added 20 points and six aces in the three-game sweep.

Noelle Miller and Miranda Sheffer were also notable contributors for AuSable Valley. Miller recorded seven points, six aces, eight kills, two digs and one block. Sheffer had five points, three aces, three kills, six digs and six assists.

Samantha Martin led the Red Storm with one ace, eight digs and three points.

The Patriots won 25-10, 25-4 and 25-15.

PERU — Charlotte Stevens helped the Chiefs get a win on the road, totaling 14 points, seven aces, seven assists and one kill.

Anna Dorrence added 14 points on five aces, 10 assists, two kills and one block in the win.

Lea Perry paced the Indians, recording 10 points, three aces, three kills, seven digs and 13 assists.

Saranac won in four sets 22-25, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-23.

LAKE PLACID — The Eagles played well from start-to-finish, defeating the Blue Bombers by scores of 25-6, 25-11 and 25-5.

Grace Kelly paced Beekmantown with 23 points, nine aces, one block, two assists, six kills and 10 digs. Kendra LaFountain added 23 assists, two kills and nine digs in the win.

Brenna Garrett was Lake Placid’s bright spot, totaling four points, two aces, one kill and one assist.

Kianna Dragoon was also a notable contributor for Plattsburgh High, adding six points, one ace, one block, 18 assists and two kills.

Nicole Khater paced Northeastern Clinton with five points on one ace, three blocks and five digs.
