Dodds’ Halloween Tournament tee assignments
PLATTSBURGH — 112 ghosts, ghouls and goblins will tee off in the 22nd Annual Mike Dodds’ Halloween Tournament at the Barracks Golf Course.
There is a shotgun start at 11 a.m. and all participants are asked to arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. to register and pick up their pre-tournament Trick or Treat Bag. Also, preliminary judging of individual and team costumes will take place prior to tee off.
All players are asked to bring a toy for the Christmas Bureau. This year participants will be playing for over $1,000 in prize money and gifts. Pizza will be served and all prizes will be given out after the completion of the tournament.

ADK Harvest Dinner scheduled for Oct. 18
PLATTSBURGH — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK at their Annual Harvest Dinner and program Oct. 18 at Trinity Episcopal Church.
There will be appetizers at 5 p.m. followed by a turkey dinner at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m. Roger Harwood will present a multimedia program entitled “20th Century Camps at Valcour Island” in the church sanctuary. Roger’s program is free and open to the public.
The cost of the dinner is $15. After expenses are satisfied, the remaining proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Community Meals Program at Trinity. The deadline for reservations for the dinner is Oct. 15 and can be made by making a check payable to Algonquin ADK and mailed to Kay Washbourne, 7645 Route 9, Plattsburgh, N.Y 12901. ‘Top Shot’ set for Oct. 24
PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club will hold the second annual “Top Shot” Match Oct. 24 at 6 p.m.
The match will cost just $5 to participate and the club will provide all equipment. Events will include: air rifle, air pistol, running boar, archery, sling shot and zombie targets.

Vermonster 4x4 ‘Invasion Tour’ coming to Airborne
PLATTSBURGH — The nationally acclaimed Vermonster 4x4 ‘Invasion Tour’ is headed to Airborne Park Speedway for a mudslinging multi-class truck competition Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.
Events include timed Mud Drags, Hill N’ Hole, Tri-Truck team challenges, Mega Truck Freestyling, Tug O’ War (on the asphalt) and Monster Truck rides.
Vermonster 4x4 events have appeared on Outdoor Channel’s ‘Trucks Gone Wild’ and been featured in Mud Life and Peterson’s 4-Wheel/Off-road magazines.
The most recent Vermonster 4x4 event at the CT Valley Fairgrounds in Bradford, VT drew thousands of fans. At a Vermonster event in 2009, Larry Quick, driving “Ghost Ryder”, completed the world’s first monster truck backflip.
Gates open Saturday at noon. Competition begins at 1 p.m. Admission is $15/adults, $5/kids ages 5-12, under-5 admitted free. Event will take place rain or shine.
