Herkalo, Bedard lead PHS over Saranac Lake

PLATTSBURGH — Victoria Herkalo registered four aces and 20 points, while Rachel Bedard added four aces, eight assists, one dig and six points in Plattsburgh High’s 3-0 sweep of Saranac Lake in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball Tuesday. 

“Herkalo and (Lida) Jivitski served well,” Hornets coach Shae LaPorte said. “Everyone on the team contributed to the success (Tuesday).”

Deanna LaBarge recorded three aces, six kills, three digs and five points for Plattsburgh High. Kianna Dragoon accumulated one ace, nine assists, two kills, one dig and two points in the three-game sweep.”

CHAMPLAIN — Amanda Tallon was the Cougars’ key performer, totaling 14 points, five aces, two kills, one block, one dig and 10 assists in their three-game sweep.

Gabrielle Vasquez added 10 points, three aces, one kill and three digs in the win.

Emma Trombley paced the Bobcats with four points on two aces, five kills, one assist, three digs and four blocks.

CLINTONVILLE — Miranda Sheffer registered eight points, three aces, four kills, three digs and eight assists in the Patriots’ three-game sweep.

AuSable Valley jumped out in front to take Game 1 25-5 before winning Game 2 and 3 25-12 and 25-13, respectively.

Noelle Miller added seven points, seven aces, eight kills, four digs and two assists in the win.

Melissa Rath led the Blue Bombers with three kills and one assist.
